He is it for me. Always has been. Others have come and gone but Batman remains my childhood comic book hero with Sgt Rock a close second!

I liked Batman too but stopped reading him when they did the whole Bane/breaking batman's back thing. It didn't seem all that clever and they were killing and bringing heroes back right left and center at the time.

It was actually one of the things that killed comics for me. I pretty much stopped reading all super hero titles not long after that.

I still read Year One and Dark Knight Returns from time to time.

My appreciation of Batman originated from the campy '60s tv series, but it was cemented forever when Frank Miller's 'Batman: The Dark Knight Returns' premiered in 1986. I still have the original four issues I bought back then.

Batman says "Be cool". thumbs up

Loved the 1960s TV series, I have seen most of the movies. Did not read the comics. I read mostly war comics, GI Combat, Haunted Tank is my favorite.

Yes, Batman was very cool.

A shame he couldn't work it out with Catwoman.

I also really liked the Green Lantern too.

Batman is probably one of the best comic book characters ever written. He has the perfect rogue's gallery and a great setting (dixit Joss Whedon)

Yeah, that lousy Bane storyline killed it for me too.

But I picked up the series based on the 90s animated show, and that restored my interest for a while.

I don't follow it much any more— did they stick with that incredibly idiotic "Death of Bruce Wayne" story idea, or have the brought the original back?

Batman is one of the few superheros that has not been screwed by the constant reinventing of the character.
I love the Bold and the Brave cartoon.

Stopped getting comics pretty much mid-80's – couldn't afford the habbit any more.

Used to get all the Batman titles – Brave & Bold, Batman, Detective Comics, plus Conan, Arak (son of thunder mind you !), Captain Carrott (!), Green Lantern, but my two real favourites were Green Arrow and Warlord.

Never got on with all the angsty whiney Marvel superheroes. Loved the early '70's Jack Kirby stuff – New Gods, Kamandi, 2001, etc. Kirby's SF themed heroes really hit the spot for me.

The first 50 or so issues of Conan were just superb, liked the Cthulhu themed ones that popped up later on too. Also used to pick up the show case issues for Thongor, Solomon Kane, Kull. Red Sonja was pants. Although she only had a chainmail bikini.

Now I'm all nostalgic……
