Seems as though Google's been monkeying with their product…again.

My computer has the Google Toolbar, and the search window is on the far left. Not too long ago, you were able to erase your search history in that window, but now it no longer gives you that option. It does, however, continue to add to your history until it's about as long as your arm, and then some. Has anyone noticed this, too, and found a way to erase their search history without wiping out everything?

Thank you.

Just to the right of the search box, there should be a little coloured "g" icon, with "Search" next to it, and a tiny drop-down arrow.

Click the arrow, then "Manage" from the drop-down. (It's second from the bottom on mine.)

On the new box you get, click the "Search" tab in the top-left corner.

Uncheck "store search history on my computer" and Robert's your father's brother.

If you do want to save search history, but just figured it was time to clear out, repeat and recheck "store search…" – your previous history should stay deleted, but it'll keep tabs from then.
