With today's multimedia devices you can do a lot of stuff. I'm interested in something that will play music, allow me to surf the internet on the go. The iPod touch is on my list, but I'm open to suggestions (iPhone is no option for me atm) |

do you listen to something ALL of the time? Do you commute? |

I love my iPhone. I'll never go back to a Blackberry. I even use my iPhone in the car. I still have an iPod Classic because I can't fit all my music on an iPod Touch or my iPhone. The games/music/internet/e-mail is good for shopping with the wife as well. Gives you something to do. Steve cavalcadewargames.com nycjadie.wordpress.com |

I dig my iPod Nano. It's loaded with metal for when I work out. I dig my iPhone even more. Granted, I only have Warren Zevon's "Excitable Boy" on it, currently. It was cool buying the album on the device and having it automatically load on it. |

Oh, and yes, get one. Why not? There are other mp3 devices out there, but few as simple to operate and as capable. |

I never thought I'd want an iPod and then got one for Christmas. I love it. If you enjoy music you will also. My first one died after several years and I picked a new one. Better than ever. I would get a full size iPod rather than a Nano, we have both, but the full size is better. |

If you like paying out lots of money for listening to your favourite song, and checking your emails, and lot's of other gargage, then go for it. I'm sure it's a fun toy that will give you lot's of pleasure in the short term. |

I own Apple stock. So, yes. In fact, buy two. Or three. Heck, one for every room in the house, every jacket pocket, and a few spares. |

I am not, as a rule, a fan of Apple products, but my new iPhone has taken me by storm. Just forgetting the phone-features for the moment, at any given time I have access to my own mp3 collection through the Ipod feature, I can play Pandora radio at will (even with no wifi), or I find and watch/listen to videos through Youtube whenever the mood strikes. Not to mention the productivity apps and games available. Many of the really good ones are even free. I downloaded a great (and free) die roller on my phone that rolls any number of any type of dice I may need. Great stuff! Bottom line-if the iPhone is not an option for you but the iTouch is, I don't think you will regret it, given all the music, multimedia, and other fun options it offers. Jason |

a phone running Android works for me. The Touch, by the way, needs a wifi connection to work |

CORRECTION: The iPod Touch needs a WiFi connection to do things that require network / internet access – other things (listening to music, playing games or other apps you downloaded, etc) work without the WiFi connection. Cheers, The Bandit |

IPOD Touch does need wifi. Great for the coffee house. I own one. I like it. Word of warning, it is not easy to write with it
entering urls and so forth. As a music player it is just great. So if you are willing to spend the money, the IPOD touch is a good way to go. |

Definitely get a player of some sort for audio. I'm no fan of Apple products, although I'm glad they dropped their obnoxious DRM. I've got a Creative Zen that I am quite fond of. It's small, and cheap enough that if I trash or lose it, it's not a disaster. Just watch out for cheaper units that don't mark where you left off when last listening. It's a drag starting a show from the beginning. Creative does this right. The smaller units often get far better battery life. So while I've got a multi-media capable phone (HTC Touch Pro), and do online stuff with it, I prefer a dedicated audio player for travel. I hate having my phone dead at the end of the day because I spent 5 hours listening to shows. - Bob |
