How do I get a ringtone for my cell phone? Specifically, I want the Dubliners' "Musha ring dumma doo dumma da, etc." NOT some heavy metal travesty. |

John I tried for 20 minutes to download a ringtone w/o sucess-it took my 11 year old two minutes. I suggest you find a kid to do it for you :) Is your son home anytime soon? |

Does your phone record sound? I got my ringtone of Whiskey by holding it up to my stereo and recording the audio, then setting it as the ringtone. |

How new is your phone? My last one would simply take any mp3 file stored on it and use that as the ringtone if you wanted. My new iPhone, annoyingly, is less easy to use in that regard. |

I just bought the phone a few weeks ago. |

John, Does your phone have a external micro-SD card slot? 1. Copy the file from a CD to your PC as an MP3. 2. Copy the MP3 to a micro-sd card. 3. Insert micro-SD card into phone. 4. Select ring tone from list of files on the memory card. This worked with my mundane little Nokia phones for the past few years. All you really need is a micro-SD card and a micro-SD card reader (USB) to connect the card to the PC (unless your laptop already has a slot for micro-SD cards). |
