I ran across this online earlier. Lt. Cmdr Breese was the only known seaplane piloty in the Fleet Air Arm to manage to successfully land a seaplane on a carrier. link A truly interesting man. Well Done Commander Breese. May We Be Worthy. |

A top notch stick-and-rudder man if there ever was one. Rest in Peace. |

Breese, who used to blanco his jungle boots
Can someone translate? |

Blanco: link although I've always associated it with cricket pads. |

The jungle boots would have been canvas & rubber so blanco would have had benefits. As one of the final generation of RAF apprentices to use blanco I can still remember what a pain it was, too much and it would rub off onto the serge battledress. Back to the thread, there can't have been many pilots whose logbooks covered biplanes and helicopters. RIP sir. |

General note, one of the hardest items for WWII British reenactors to find is blanco |
