Okay I have a couple of applications to convert quickplace videos to wmv's, but they are clunky, and then I have to go back and adjust the speed of the video per the sound ratio…(Quickplace to WMV conversions so far have all seemed to make the sound "faster" than the image on the screen..)

So does anyone know of a good video conversion program that is
A: Quick and Easy to use…
B: Converts QP files to WMV and doesn't require additional fiddling…
C: Most of all, free or very cheap?

Thanks…

I cant help, but curious as to why you are converting avi to wmv -- I am generally trying to go the other way to remove the horrid protections in wmv.

Hmmmm… Not familiar with "quickplace avi".
Not sure why anyone would want to convert from avi to wmv. As a container, wmv sucks.

Can I assume "qp" is the same as "regular" avi?

Since wmv is proprietary, you will have to purchase an "easy" converter or use Windows Movie Maker.

I'd search versiontracker.com for a tool. I often go from .AVI to .MOV or .MP4 using a variety of tools depending on what is most suited / convenient to me including Evom, Flip4Mac (a set of QuickTime extensions and codecs), and Handbreak. There are others but these are all Macintosh applications, once again, I'd check out versiontracker.com for a Windows solution.

Cheers,
