Famous supporting actor, Karl Malden has passed away. The Oscar winning, Emmy-nominated actor was also an NCO in the 8th Air Force during WW2. He is perhaps as well known for being the pitchman for American Express Travelers checks ("don't leave home without them") as for his roles in Streetcar Named Desire, Patton and The Streets of San Francisco.

If that's the case GG, then we're in a bad episode of the Twilight Zone.

While its a shame to see a man lkike Karl Malden pass, he still had a great legacy and a truly wonderful life. Many thanks sir for your service to the country and as an actor. Viya Con Dios Mr. Malden.

Another one who I figured was already dead… but unlike the recent rash of celebrity death this is one I actually admired.

Loved him in On the Waterfront – and he did a fine job in Patton, too.

Azantihighlightning02 Jul 2009 1:09 p.m. PST

He was superb, he had a real nose for this talent too.

RIP Mr Malden

Always convincing and intense. "Death! comes unexpectedly!" (a line from his younger days)
