Famous supporting actor, Karl Malden has passed away. The Oscar winning, Emmy-nominated actor was also an NCO in the 8th Air Force during WW2. He is perhaps as well known for being the pitchman for American Express Travelers checks ("don't leave home without them") as for his roles in Streetcar Named Desire, Patton and The Streets of San Francisco. Another one who I figured was already dead
but unlike the recent rash of celebrity death this is one I actually admired. |

Loved him in On the Waterfront – and he did a fine job in Patton, too. |

Always convincing and intense. "Death! comes unexpectedly!" (a line from his younger days) |
