In the latest installment, we see a new power: link Teleportation
even "mass" teleportation. Okay, with the earthquake earlier, I had wondered if the Creature was an Earth Dragon from the Fiend Folio. But the above power isn't listed for Earth Dragons. And I'm just not sure I believe that was a "spell," it seemed like more of an innate ability. So I'm stumped. I'll admit my knowledge of monsters in D&D stops with the Monster Manual II. Does anybody have any guesses as to the identity of the creature? Remember: Highly intelligent, yet apparently immature, even a "child." Immensely strong (threw a paladin and a horse for several hundred yards or more). Can create Earthquakes (when roused). Can teleport two people an unknown distance. Thoughts? |

I have no idea. I'm curious though – he's an interesting character. |

I'm still going with Terrasque or some variation thereof. |

A Tarrasque doesn't have either the apparent powers or intelligence of the Creature. I've thumbed through the MM2 and the FF and can't find anything with all six known qualities (intelligence, immaturity, super strength, earthquake, teleport, and an indeterminate (neutral?) alignment). (All but the teleport ability had me thinking "dragon"— that's why I was thrown when that ability popped up.) I'm having to recall the MM from memory, but nothing in it comes to mind. Maybe there's a 3.x edition monster that fits the bill. I'm assuming that the magical abilities are innate, rather than "spells," as the creature doesn't seem to utilize the typical casting wording of the various spellcasters in the comic. |

Actually, the creature was introduced as after the PCs were upgraded to 3.5, so if it is a real creature (and he said it was) it should be in one of the 3/3.5 books. Maybe I will motivate myself to dig through them. Eventually

Ah, c'mon Michael! I just went through my MM2, FF and an online site that seems to compile most of the 2nd Ed. monsters, including the MM and MM2 (although the oriental dragons are missing). I've done my part. Now it's up to the 3/3.5 guys to take up the mission!

Thanks, you've just made me worry about the CitD revelation. Loads of people moaning about how it doesn't fit in with the rules. If I play D&D, it is with the kids, and it is the 1979 rerelease with new cover art. Now the saddos will be out in force. |

I see a joke about "homebrew" uber-monsters coming when its finally revealed. edit: Wait, he said it's a "real" monster? |
