In another senseless act of terror he was shot down in the line of duty yesterday. This city and the museum will sorely miss him.

He was one of a group that were trained and did their duty. They undoubtedly saved many lives. Mr. Jones sounds like a good man who will be missed. RIP. Can't say the same for von Brunn who still lives.

What a horrible event, and a horrible thing to happen to a good man. May God bless his family in this time.

Mr. Johns sounds like a good and honorable man, and he died protecting the public from a monster. May God grant his spirit peace and be with him and his family.

I hope this von Brunn person reaps the poison he has sown in his remaining miserable years.

I mourn Officer Johns' passing just as everyone else here does, but in point of fact when he was shot he was not "protecting the public". Unfortunately he was gunned down as he held the door for that sicko. He never had a chance.

It's just too bad the rest of the security force only seriously wounded the Nazi. They did a great job, mind you, but I would have preferred Brunn deader than dead, and burning besides.

I think the point is that he was working as a security guard… not a doorman… regardless of what specific action he was performing he was doing his job, which was security… protecting the museum and it's visitors.

Dr. Tiller and Stephen Johns will unfortunately not be the only victims of our latest wave of domestic terrorists. The combination of the economy and progressive politics on top, not to mention the color of Obama's skin have the crazies in an uproar. I better stop there.

I think the point is that he was working as a security guard… not a doorman… ……he was performing he was doing his job,

The first part "is" the point. He was NOT the doorman but a security officer who was in condition white. Officers should be at least in condtion orange when armed.

That said he death does remind us of the jobs many take for granted. Next time you are at a mall or other venue take a look and say thanks to the so called "rent a cops" who are there for your safety.

RIP Officer Johns.
