Great googly-moogly. Any other confirmation?

No! He seemed so young…even at 72!

Based on the BBC story, it may have been an accident. RIP

…it may have been an accident…

Certainly sounds like an odd sort of hanging.

Bummer…
I've enjoyed the work of all the Carradine's but David was my favorite.

Rope and wardrobe? isn't that a bit Inxs like?

What a shock! As far as the general public knew, there wasn't any indication about Mr. Carradine facing a terminal illness or mental/emotional issues. This is truly news out of left field.

Such a shame.

mweaver04 Jun 2009 8:20 a.m. PST

Sorry to hear about his death. May he rest peacefully. (Doubly so since he would make a scary ghost).

Here's a bit of irony, from Wikipedia:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/My_Suicide

Note who's in the cast.

Daffy Doug04 Jun 2009 9:15 a.m. PST

"INXS", yes that's likely it. He didn't "off" himself: but it sounds like he was "getting off", and it went wrong….

Daffy Doug04 Jun 2009 9:15 a.m. PST

As I said elsewhere: he was always a fav, and his roles got more interesting as he got older. He will be missed….

GarrisonMiniatures04 Jun 2009 9:56 a.m. PST

Certainly doesn't sound like suicide to me.

GoodBye04 Jun 2009 11:15 a.m. PST

Very unfortunate, I hope he has found peace.

Shades of Vaughn Bode…

Daffy Doug04 Jun 2009 2:05 p.m. PST

Shades of a local guy some years ago. His family went out for an afternoon of fun on the lake, and when they returned, "Dad" was found strung up naked to the bathroom door; further details need not be provided.

Wow, Wikipedia didn't waste any time link ….

Venusboys3: You into underground comix?

Sorry for the off-topic, everyone.

I loved Vaughn Bode's stuff. Somewhere around the homestead are a few of his comics.

Thanks for the smiles over the years and give your dad a 'hey' for me.

Space Monkey04 Jun 2009 8:20 p.m. PST

Cheech Wizard was a regular strip in old school National Lampoon… but yeah, I've got loads of undergrounds too.

NPR played an old interview with Carradine tonight… he was an interesting guy, had lots of adventures and a unique outlook on… stuff.

One of my actors appeared with him in his last film, ( Autumn) which was also produced by my friends father. Apparently nothing but lovely reports about the man both personally and professionally.

Still, goes to show, in the bedroom, some lines should just not be crossed.

RIP D.C thanks for many a great performance.

Old Slow Trot05 Jun 2009 6:43 a.m. PST

I still remember the ads he did for some Tai-Chi instructional DVD's. So long, and thanks .

jpattern205 Jun 2009 7:01 a.m. PST

RIP, Mr. Carradine.

Hexxenhammer05 Jun 2009 8:29 a.m. PST

You'd think in Bangkok he couldh've found a professional to help him with that sort of thing.

Daffy Doug05 Jun 2009 8:38 a.m. PST

Maybe he did, and they ran when he died….

terrain sherlock05 Jun 2009 11:47 p.m. PST

<quantumcat here>

Terrain_sherlock and I had the privilege of being extras in a film Keith Carradine made in our hometown.

Keith was a very engaging person and from what we heard from him and other family members on hand,David was a delight and in a good place in his personal and professional life.

The statements made by those close to David Carradine at the time of his death indicate he was still an unlikely suicide.

True, such incidents often occur "out of the blue" and auto-erotic asphixiation is plausible, newsworthy and more palatable than self-murder.

But,I still have qualms about the rush to describe how he died and begin speculation.

I'd think it would have been more appropriate to withhold details until after a thorough forensic investigation were made.

If foul play were ruled out, then a press release could expand on the original report.

When you get down to it,these matters are none of our business unless hearing about the preventable demise of a public figure saves someone else from suffering the same fate.
