My wife wnats me to get a Blu Ray player for my Bday. I have no idea which are good or not so good. Honestly I'm not sure I want one (which I guess means I really don't want one but will tolerate one.)

We do have a big screen HD TV.

So, what brands or models should I look at? Or stay away from?

Any other advise about them?

Thanks
Jake

IMHO, an expensive gadget, not really worth the money.

Are you a gamer (videogames)? If this is the case, the PS3 is your best bet; cheap for a Blu Ray player, and does a lot more.

Blu Ray discs are a lot more expensive than regular DVDs.

If you have a plasma or LCD HD-TV then just get a regular DVD player which does upscaling.
