I'm assuming it's The Who, but I've been wrong before. The only part of the lyrics I know are the chorus which sings "rain on me", and one portion of lyrics that exclaims "God, I need a drink!". The song begins with thunder, a heavy rain falling, and a solo piano intro. Anyone have an idea what it is? Thanks! |

(Pete's theme) Only love Can make it rain The way the beach is kissed by the sea Only love Can make it rain Like the sweat of lovers Laying in the fields. Love, Reign o'er me Love, Reign o'er me, rain on me Only love Can bring the rain That makes you yearn to the sky Only love Can bring the rain That falls like tears from on high Love Reign O'er me On the dry and dusty road The nights we spend apart alone I need to get back home to cool cool rain I can't sleep and I lay and I think The night is hot and black as ink Oh God, I need a drink of cool cool rain |

Yep! That's the one, Lord Hypnogogue. A great rainy night song, along with The Doors' 'Riders on the Storm' and Grand Funk Railroad's 'Closer to Home (I'm Your Captain)'. Thanks a bunch, buddy! Get something at The Lounge on me. |

Hardly ever hear it on the radio anymore. Makes me sad. |

I think one, maybe two stations in the DFW market possibly play it. One outlet would likely be KZPS 92.5 FM, "Lone Star 92.5", since they began in the '70s as the legendary KZEW "The Zoo", a "deep cut" album rock station. The other would probably be KJJK 100.3 FM, "Jack FM". On the other hand, thank God for YouTube. |

One of their very best. They played this during their "farewell tour" in the 80s. It was about halfway through and it brought such power to the rest of the concert quite amazing. |

Buy the Album. "Quadrophenia" was the pinnacle for the Who. I think it's something of a masterpiece. They were never quite the same afterwards. |

I've never listened to Quadrophenia. I'll have to find a copy. |
