How can it be a capella with a band
|
| napthyme | 30 Mar 2009 9:51 a.m. PST |
five singers and a drummer doing heavy metal what else would you call it???? |
John the OFM | 30 Mar 2009 10:04 a.m. PST |
From en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_cappella "A cappella (Italian[1] for From the chapel/choir) music is vocal music or singing without instrumental accompaniment." A drum is an instrument. |

so what, can you make a thumping noise as fast as a drummer can? I THINK NOT
Name 2 othere heavy metal Acapella groups then? "buzz" times up there are none

You have never vocalized "Wipeout"? The ones you link to are not A Cappella, because they use instruments. What are you going to claim next, that bagpipes are beyond the pale, so they should not count either? Pan Pipes? Zither? Xylophone? BY DEFINITION, in A Cappella music, the human voice is the ONLY instrument. Drums, coconuts, empty coke bottles etc are not allowed. Call it "Vocals with only one instrument" if you wish, but it is NOT A Cappella. That does not mean that they are not worth listening ot. They just do NOT fit the definition requested in the title. As for "Name 2 othere heavy metal Acapella groups then?", you did not even name ONE. |

When I woke up this morning, this is not the topic I would have bet any money on that I would have ended up arguing about. |

Jim's suggestion has given me yet another favorite German music group to go along with Rammstein. Now I gotta go find some Van Canto stuff for iTunes. Wyatt |

your problem john is the music is to load and your to old
. I don't care what you say they are still acapella. Ladysmith has been known to use instuments and rythmic stomping in there music, so no different then using a drum. |

. I don't care what you say they are still acapella "I don't care what the standard and accepted definition of A Cappella is
" You are wrong, and I am right. Deal with it. |
