Just in case anyone else gets one and isn't sure, just got this:

Pay Me With PayPal
xxxxxx (xxxxxx@yahoo.co.uk) would like to be paid through PayPal.
Money Request Details
Amount: £140.00 GBP
Pay With PayPal
PayPal makes it easy to send xxxxxx money

It comes through like a genuine invoice, except that:
We have no outstanding payment
We have never heard of the person whose name was shown
It came through to a very general email address (cdix@, not an email address we use but picked up in the catchall!)

Obviously an attempt at a scam (which I may play with. ;-) ) but just in case anyone else gets one and isn't sure…

It's not a scam. They'd like to be paid money, and they're giving you a chance to do it. Note that they don't offer to send you anything, nor do they actually suggest that you *owe* them anything. More like electronic panhandling really.

;-)

Hey, how about a Papal Invoice

Indulgences: 300 years
Cost: $50 USD USD/year
Payable to: Vatican Pain of Hell Relief Fund
Please note, that Heretic Luther is totally off his gord on the subject and he does not speak for His Emminence

Brilliant.

I suggest you pay them, after all, why would anyone send you an invoice if you didn't order something from them? evil grin

I receive those 'Paypal' phishing attempts 3-4 times a
month. I send them to spoof@paypal.com, in hopes that
those low-lifes can be shut-down..
