I received a SPAM message supposedly from a "major credit card company" of which I am a customer. I know it was SPAM since it was sent to my non-business email account. I use a different email for my credit card.

However, I had forgotten to set up payment for this month's statement. If it were not for the SPAM I would have been paying late fees, etc.

Maybe it was some viral way of provoking deliquent customers into checking their payments . . . Rather than upset people in these economic hard times and risking being sued by the survivors of suicidal debtors :)
