Anyone else on TMP reading this series? After issues 0 and 1, I feel worn out. Wow, talk about mature content! If ever a comic needed an 'adults-only' warning, this is the one. I think it has potential, although I don't know if I'll be able to handle the ultra-gruesome stuff that I'm almost certain will be cranked up even higher as the series progresses. A quick summary: a terrible something (so far unexplained) is speading through person-to-person contact (blood, etc.) and causing those thusly infected to want to kill everyone around them in the most horrific, disgusting, and often-times sexual way possible. The "infected" have a cross-shaped blister-like lesion on their faces, hence the title. It's like a zombie tale, except the zombies are still alive, still have their intelligence, and don't just want to eat you, they want to chop you up while you're still alive, preferably while doing horrid things to your bodily orifices. |

I've been reading it. And I absolutely love it. I read an interview with Jacen B (the artist) on the Avatar comics website – the virus (and it isn't mentioned whether it's a literal virus or some sort of supernatural contagion) makes you into the most evil version of yourself that you're capable of imagining. So everyone is infected differently, but similarly. The infected can still use guns and tanks, they just prefer cutting and sawing weapons. Apparently the publisher says that the seventh issue is the most horrific issue of a comic that he's ever read
and Avatar has published some doozies in the last few years! I'm looking forward to it! -Alex |

Hmm, I'll have to check this out when it is released in a collection. |

Thanks for the info, Alex. The rest of the series should be an interesting ride
Pictors, before you read the series you should prepare yourself to read things that can't be unread
if you get my meaning. |
