…letting me know I have been dealing with the wrong people in Nigeria claiming to be with the Central Bank of Nigeria. They then helped me out, by giving me the names of the real people I should be dealing with….isn't our government great????!!! Now I can finally get my 10 mil.

There's something profound here but I can't quite put my finger on it.

If you pretended to be from the FBI in person, over the phone, or by mail, that would be a serious crime and they would get you. If you do it over email its *technically* a crime and everyone knows no one goes to jail for it.

I have to think its the same "it doesn't count on a screen" that causes teens who would never spray paint anything or smash a window to happily break into web servers and scramble things up.

But if you've go the email address of the real Nigerian Oil Minister, that might be valuable. He's promised everyone money, maybe they can cut you in for 10% …
