Well there's a show destined to have a long run…

Green Hornet?

I remember the day the collective comic book world cried out in unison "MICHAEL KEATON?!?!?! MR. MOM?!?!", but the 'Batman' movie and comic franchise prospered – until George "Looney" Clooney's turn. Anyway, Rogen's got some time to turn that human dough hanging off his skeleton into lean fighting mass.

COOL! Stephen Chow as Kato!

Photonred23 Sep 2008 8:06 a.m. PST

Yeh but Keaton was in shape and could act.

He would have been my last choice, but I guess if you're running the project…

So true, Photonred. The only thing I know about Seth Rogen is that his goofy-lookin' mug was plastered on posters from that movie he was in. And as for Stephen Chow, the "international box office sensation", I've never heard of him.

Call me unimpressed.

Saginaw, watch Kung Fu Hustle and Shaolin Soccer

Tommy2023 Sep 2008 10:54 a.m. PST

On behalf of Saginaw, no.

I'm wondering if the premise of this will be like the movie where Sherlock Holmes was a blithering idiot and Dr Watson was the brains behind the crimefighting – only now the Hornet is the inept one and Kato is really carrying the load.

I'd far prefer an ept hornet to an inept one.

Photonred23 Sep 2008 3:14 p.m. PST

Oh yeh I'm there with you Saginaw

Ashbless25 Sep 2008 8:02 a.m. PST

Saginaw – another vote here for you to watch Kung Fu Hustle – with its eclectic cast of characters, its well worth sitting through at least once.

I'm with Saber6 on his Chow comments. Stephen Chow would be a great Kato. Seth Rogan I do not know about however. And I do agree that if you haven't seen it Kung fu hustle is well worth you time as well as Shaolin Soccer.

Normally I'd be the first to jump on the bash Clooney wagon, but it wasn't entirely his fault this time. Blame Joel Schumacher's vision, which ruined Burton's atmosphere, and Chris O'Donnell and his codpiece fetish. By the fourth movie I couldn't give a crap about overpaid whiny prima donnas.

So the Green Hornet is supposed to be a big fat slob? I dont remember the show that way in my mind's eye.

Thieses17 Dec 2008 12:05 p.m. PST

When I first read about Seth Rogan's involvement I thought he was just writing the script. I don't have an issue with Rogan writing. He is build like me, and folks, I would make a horrid Green Hornet.

Well at least there may be some cool Green Hornet stuff brought back tothe market place. Usually they bringback some vintage material when a movie is released.

I guess I will hope for the best.

I wonder if they will use "Flight of the Bumble Bee" for its theme song?
