I compleatly forgot this board existed I used to read them religiously but I haven't bought a new one sense the early 90s. Seeing the X Man trilogy has gotten Me thinking on rereading My colection and picking up some new ones. So are there any that You can recomend? |

I've enjoyed the Preacher series a lot, if you want to read something religiously again. |

Currently I'm reading the new Thor series, the Astonishing X-men books by Joss Whedon just finished (if you want to buy some collected books), and "The Boys" is a hilarious and foul (FOUL!!) dystopian superhero book. |

"Batman Detective Comics" is still my favourite. I also enjoy the Justice Society of America, Teen Titans and the new Wonder Woman serie, to name but a few. But I must admit that I'm old school when it comes to comics. |

*But I must admit that I'm old school when it comes to comics.* Me too I like My heros to be heroic. All My favorite stuff came from the late 60s through the 70s. |

If you like your heros heroic (and in spandex), have a look at some of the DC well-known franchises; Batman, WW, Green Lantern, Titans, JSA, JLA, etc. Surely one of those will strike your fancy. |

"Are the Boys collected in any trade paperbacks yet?" Two of them I think. |

Try 'The Ultimates' reworking of classic heroes, very well done. Mick |

There are a ton of really great independent books out there. They are able to take chances that the big two can't or won't. Here are some series/books I'm sure you'll like: Kick Ass by Mark Miller and John Romita
Fell by Warren Ellis(sorta like a David Lynch movie) The Exterminators Legacy(a star wars comic book set many years after Return of the jedi-where the rule of two has been broken and there are a ton of dark jedi) Red Mass for Mars by Jonathan Hickman Transhumanism by Jonathan Hickman The Core by Jonathan Hickman I also liked the first issue of Welcome to Hosford. |
