Duties: You will serve as the museum curator for objects (artifacts to include uniforms/equipment, accoutrements, insignias, flags, weapons) for the National Museum of the United States Army (NMUSA). You will serve as a team leader in charge overseeing collections management of the NMUSA objects collection; ensure ongoing accountability, care, and preservation of the collection; conduct scholarly research and advise other museum professionals and exhibit designers on the identification and interpretation of U.S. Army historical objects.

About the Position: You will serve as a subject matter expert, advise and collaborate with other colleagues within the Army Museum System, foreign museums and exhibit designers on matters of display, identification and interpretation of objects. Office is sedentary in nature with controlled heat and air.

Qualifications:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: The resumes of qualified candidates must reflect their experience in the following areas: Collections Management in order to oversee the management of historical artifact collections; Research Support such as detailed systematic research on topics relevant to units that served pre-World War I to present; expertise in matters of display of display and identification and interpretation of historical objects.

Basic Requirements: Degree: museum work; or in an applicable subject-matter field. OR Combination of education and experience - courses equivalent to a major above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. OR Four years of experience that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study as shown above.

GS-12 and above: Bachelor's degree directly related to this occupation and 1 year of experience directly related to this occupation equivalent to the next lower grade level. The experience described in your resume will be evaluated and screened for the Office of Personnel Management's basic qualifications requirements, and the skills needed to perform the duties of this position as described in this vacancy announcement. Your pay will be set within the range specified in this vacancy announcement and will be based on your qualification, education, experience, training, and availability of funds. NSPS positions are excluded from time-in-grade restrictions. Foreign education must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency in order to be considered for this position.
