I'm kind of confused about the Good Prince/Flycatcher story line. I've read up to #68, where Flycatcher surrenders to the wooden soldier army. I've never really understood what fable Flycatcher was supposed to be. So, can someone explain why he had amnesia fo so long? Why he suddenly got his memory back? & why he suddenly has such incredible magical power to animate ghosts? Also, what fables are Weyland the builder & Trusty John from? Thanks |

I believe Flycatcher is supposed to be the Frog Prince. According to Wiki Weyland appears to be based on Germanic tales. No idea about Trusty John. |

Thanks for the Wiki suggestion. There's a write up that answers most of my questions in the Frog Prince entry. There's also an entry for Trusty John. So now I'm just curious how Flycatcher suddenly got this awesome magical power. Is that the special plan that Prince Charming had been working on with Frau Kindertotten? |

No idea, honestly. I've read enough Fables that I've a general idea of what you're talking about, but like most comics I usually only read them when the local library gets in various TPBs. |

The armor "hanging" in City Hall was either Flycatcher's, or was the armor of the original Good Prince. While I don't think it has all been explained, I suspect most of the power he is showing is due to the armor, his being a Prince, and the necessary elements within the Fable lands to trigger a "heroes prevail" backlash. Fables and the Fable lands are far more bound by their iconic nature than has been obvious. |

Some of the Flycatcher back-story is given in the '1001 nights of snowfall' 'prequel'. |
