Got a strange request here –

I've got some barcodes that I'd like to read but I don't know what format they're in.

Can anybody tell from the following sample?

I'm not an expert in identifying barcodes, but it doesn't look much different from the code 39 stuff I work with.

Presumeably you have a scanner? I use a wedge scanner (attached to my keyboard) as do most of the people I supervise. These are inexpensive (<$150 USD) and come with manuals that allow you to change the reading behaviour, ie, code 39, code 128 and others. You could fiddle fart around with one of these.

Not code 3 of 9, the start/stop bars are wrong.

It is code 128 for "4095105" followed by nine spaces.

It could be EAN (or ISBN13) though looks slightly long for that

Looks like it's code 128 using character set B

I deal with scanners and barcodes daily with my job.

Thanks for the info – it was indeed Code 128.

One additional problem was that the sample boxes I was scanning had bad stickers – they simply refused to scan.

That barcode chart's quite useful. I was able to ID some other codes that we needed as well.
