and the reserve price is still not met.

They have a good Foreign Legion cover version of Action for sale for less than $200. USD That's the kind of stuff I would want to grab.

Is Jerry Seinfeld selling to buy a new car?

Well there is only a total of 10 of these in the world so you really can not expect it to be very cheep.

Only 10? I had an employee of mine show me his Dad's copy 25 years ago. he said that it would be sold to help pay for his College expenses.

Thanks,

John

I've got the high bid on the same seller's Superman no. 1, at $5.50!

What kind of joke can this be???

Hmm, now that auction has been ended early and all bids cancelled. I wonder what the hell was going on? Bidding starting at 99 cents for Superman no. 1? I mean, I bid twenty bucks just for the fun of being the high bidder on Superman no. 1 for the only time in my life! It's ridiculous, like when Lorne Michaels offered the Beatles $4,000 to reunite on SNL. But still, I assumed that given the Action comic auction, this was a legitimate auction. Is someone playing April Fool's jokes on eBay and its bidders?

I didn't see the Superman auction, but I doubt it was an April Fool's joke if it's from this seller.

oldhans1174: You're quoting an old, out-of-date factoid that has since been proven wrong. There were once thought to be 10 copies in mint or near mint condition, but there are actually only 5-7 with that grade. There are numerous copies with lower grades, and even more partial copies (some kids would cut out their favorite stories and put them into scrapbooks and stuff).

According to wiki, there are fewer than 100 copies, which sounds about right according to an article I read a few years back in The Comics Journal and a piece from Wall Street Journal.

I have 3 already I don't think I need another.

I wonder what the reserve on it was? – It remained unsold at $94,000.

Do the sellers have to pay a hefty sum to list an item with a massive reserve?

Perhaps it is a cheap way of obtaining a true street vaulation without having to actualy sell.
