Checking out the Will Eisner website,Isaw there are 2 different pictures on Darwyn Cooke`s hard cover "The Spirit book one"[not the dust jacket-but the hard cover itself]. I just recently sent for it and have no idea which cover I`ll receive.AS this book was just released last October, why 2 different covers when it`s the exact same contents inside?I also noticed there are 2 different isbn #. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

To screw as much money as possible out of the collectors market??? That's the traditional reason for "variant covers" on comics.

However if there are 2 different ISBNs then maybe one is the US territories edition and one is the UK territories edition (or some such). They would be re-typeset to alter the spelling of 'color' to 'colour' and other such vagaries of the English language.

i've noticed that comic books now ship with two covers a lot of the time. The regular cover the reader gets. And for every 10 issues the dealer orders he gets one issue with the variant cover.

Can you provide links to the two different covers? I'm a fan of the Spirit and am curious about this, myself.
