When I'm not buying up every miniature in sight my other obsession is comics, in particular DC universe trade paperbacks. I started a blog to keep track of my collection and to help me organize trades by year/month the orginal issues were published. Well I have just read and cataloged my 150th trade. A dubious landmark but a landmark none the less. My collection mostly focuses on the 2000's as I got back into comics in 2004 with Identity Crisis but I am now reading stuff from all over the DCU. Anyway, if you are wierd like me and want to read everything released in 2005 my blog will help you do that! Or if you have been a away for while and want to see what has been going on in the DCU lately, this will help. It is by no means complete, yet, but I'm working on it. Check it out and let me know what you think: dctradesproject.blogspot.com |

In my collection, I was mainly a DC reader . To me it was best before all the juggleing of universes. My collection now only consusts of Legion of Super heroes. Mainly from before you began collectin. I think that my oldest issue with the Legion in it is 1967. I have some X-Files and from the company that did Stormwatch that are in my store. |

I like to read Golden Age stories, which we not available when I was a serious fan as a teenager in the early 1960's. Now, I love All Star comics. |

I'm more of a Silver Age Marvel fan with the likes of the Captain America, Avengers and Nick Fury Agent of SHIELD but my wife is a DC nut and really got started when we met a few years ago so I'm sure to give her your sire. Now if you are a parent and a geek like us be sure to check out her blog at Geek Parenting where comic books are a mainstay in out way of life with our kids. Brian geekparenting.com |

So, Silverback, would you like some "Who's Who in the DC Universe? I really need to go back through my ComicBase listing to see what I want to clear out. Wyatt |

Comics were becoming and extinct animal before the 2000's. Now TPB released have brought comics back from the brink. It's cool to see great comics like Watchmen, Dark Knight, and Sandman, in your local bookstore. Not to mention entire isles of Anime TPB's. To think when I was reading anime there were not TPB's. God I am old LOL

I'm reading Path of the Assassin right now. Good stuff. I also pick up the best comic anthologies and I recently read Black Hole. I'm not so much into superhero stuff anymore, but I do enjoy a good Batman story every couple years. |

I've fallen in love with the black & white DC Showcase and Marvel Essentials reprints myself. At 500+ pages of Silver Age goodness for about $13 USD (allowing for discounts) I can live without color just fine. |

It's possible Wyatt! Cool site Battleground and Hundvig, I'm with you. When I first got back into comics I was reading essentials like crazy, love them. Inari, you are right, I just couldn't be bothered with bagging and boxing comics like I did when I was a kid, DC wouldn't be getting any of my money if trades didn't exist. I want something that sits on the self that I can easily reference. I honestly wonder if the monthly floppy format has much life left. I have read debates about this on various blogs. |
