Too much confusion, can't get no relief.

Plowmen dig my earth.

I prefer the Hendrix version myself.
Good song :)

I though the use of the song in Battle Star Galactica was kind of neat.

BunkerMonkey22 Jan 2008 9:19 a.m. PST

Bob Dylan himself considers Hendrix's version to be the definitive one.

and so begins the "Earth" vs. "Herb" battle…

Dylan always seems to do the Hendrix version….but we can live in hope…..

Never been a big fan of Dylan nor the Grateful Dead but a former flatmate played me the version from the "Dylan and the Dead" album and it was the best I've heard.

[Also quite like the U2 version from "Rattle & Hum".]

I like the version by Affinty, who were a one LP band in 1970.
I heard it in the early 80s and managed to get a copy about 20 years later.

When ever I hear/think of this song I always think of the episode of Tour Of Duty where they try to rescue the downed pilot.

There are many here among us who think these threads are but a joke.

Yes- there must be some way out of here…

Although I will make one observation:
One of the few 'covers' that blows away the original. In that respect I'd put it up there with Joe Cocker's "Get By With A Little Help…"

Mugwump23 Jan 2008 9:50 a.m. PST

A damned interesting setup for a medieval/fantasy scenario. Another is Heart's "These Dreams."

Except "These Dreams" are the "Fat, nobody dreams about having sex with *US* anymore Wilson Sisters"

Now I'd "Barracuda" either/both of them…
