Good weekend at the fall event. These pictures were posted by another memeber at "The Trenchline" WW1 reenactor forum.

I am the guy in the Aussie Slouch hat at the table with 4 British Commonwealth Officers having a meeting.

Enjoy!

Guy

Some very nice pictures, Guy! I was tickled to see my friends Bill David & Jim Kidd among the troops. The airplanes were very cool. I attended one of these events many years ago at the old site and I've been tempted to try again, but I'm so old and out of shape I'd have to be with the rear-echelon guys. No more Over the Top for me!

Yes, and you all died when the German artillery piece opened up!

heh heh- talk abut loud…. (and heavy)

Scott- you just join the "Old Farts Brigade" composed of such folks as you and me, who do period stuff way back and let the young blood go over the top.

One of these days I mean to take a road trip and attend one these events. Unfortunately, things died out on the left coast when we lost our battlesite.

Excellent pictures!

Jgawne, were you on the Artillery peice?

I wasn't killed by it, I outflanked it with my platoon and took it.

Helps to be the trail element of the 3rd wave of the assault.

Guy, were you in the 80th?

If so,I was killed by the "rain of grenades" and a,m the guy that took the group shot of you on the peice.

No, no I was the OC of the Commonwealth Platoon of the BEF (5th BN AIF, PPCLI and Van Doos [spelling???, not sure they just joined the platoon this event and I don't speak french]).

We came in behind the yanks, but you were still firing. I surpressed with Rifle grenades and came through the bushes vrom the left of the gun. We didn't stay for pictures but kept attacking through "Death Valley".
