I can connect to the internet like nobody's business(Obviously! Cause you are reading this) BUT I can't get the I-tunes to download the CD track info. When I run a diagnostic it says half the time my internet connection is broken or such, but all the while I can download programs, online game mags like S&P and other stuff where info transfer occurs. What's worse is the help file directions never make sense because they refer to stuff that isn't on my computer. I'm running I-tunes on a PC(laptop), but never had a problem with it on my old desktop. No I don't have it anymore so I can't go back to it. My worry is my laptop loves to tell me how I've lost network connection then connect to it only to lose it again, over and over. But surfing doesn't get interupted. I don't know much about computers so maybe this has no impact. Any help or ideas would be much appreciated.

Are you using a wireless or wired connection?

I've found that unless I have my wireless configured a certain way it keeps hooking itself up to stray signals and resetting its IP address, which I'm sure things lik ei-tunes don't like

Maybe your firewall blocks Itunes?

It does sound like you've got your wireless network priorities set funny. One of the things you may need to do is move your primary network to the top of your priority queue. (If you've got XP, it should be easy to get to in your Network Setup panel.) If you don't, you could be jumping around between your neighbors' unsecured networks, which could be the source of your connect/disconnect message.

Also, I'm not clear what you mean by "track info". Are you loading a CD and iTunes is not returning any data from the on-line repository? Or are you downloading the music from iTunes itself?

If it's the former, it's entirely possible that you've got some obscure musical tastes. (Not all track data is available on-line.) I've got a few albums like that, where I had to enter the track data by hand.
