I designed this in hopes of making a place for people to finally discuss history. Though, I also include information about miniatures and stuff, the forums are my real pride and joy. Let me know what you think. Comments, questions and suggestions are appreciated. jfchistory.com/index.html |

Good start – hopefully people will start using it and it should take off. |

From your main navigation I would say any links leading "off site" should open in a new window. The block black & white lettering of the tittles is hard for my eyes to read – I'd suggest something a little easier to perceive as my eyes tend to be better than most (but certaintly not the best). From a creative point of view perhaps some warmer color scheme? History gets the "blah – drab" label all the time – the grey scheme tends to bring me down. On the Forum (nice!) the grey background makes it hard for me to read the text. Regards & Thanks |

An interesting idea PraetorianHistorian, good job Ol' Bean! I'll be following it. I agree that a lighter color scheme might be a good idea, but it's not critical. Oh, and will Larry Dunn get to edit it? ;-) |

Hey guys! Thanks for all the input so far! - The block letter links I just put at the top for easy access to the main parts for people who don't feel like going through a list that will hopefully grow. But I will fool around with some other fonts. - It's funny, I've been told by others that my theme is a bit "drab." If you have any suggestions for what colors to change, I am obliged. - I am surprised the background on the forums is hard to read for you. Is it just because the text is small or is the actual colors conflicting? - Larry Dunn? What does Earth, Wind & Fire have to do with this? :D Thanks again for all the suggestions and I hope more people feel free to chime in. Also, don't be a stranger. If you want to join the forums, it will definitely add to the quality of people I hope to have. |
