I routinely report bank, ebay and paypal phishers to the appropriate company, and generally get a form email back noting that they will investigate the matter. Does anyone know if ebay or paypal actually ever do anything about it? Can they? It all irritates me to no end. Dave |

I think those caught are condemned to clean all the computers they have infected

Over the past few months, some 58 Nigerians and others have been arrested in the Netherlands. Don't know of any further results or verdicts yet. |

I sentence them to a virtual death. All the fake names get copied into a text file and I use them as IDs for the cannon fodder in my games. "Ptolemy Eads, your day of judgment is coming." |

I think they should all get a nasty punishment, I'm just undecided as to what yet – maybe the death penalty is a bit harsh but then again

In China, spammers who are found from overseas complaints are immediately drafted into the PLA External Security Police and spend their time hacking overseas government systems, trolling on newsgroups for anti-Chinese activity, and spreading rumours about gerbils to undermine por-Tibet actors. In some African countries, the criminals are being sarrested and in some cases executed for crimes against the state ( Lowering your country's image in the world counts. ) In NZ, FBI agents come into the country, arrest a young spammer and, after days of tearful pleading and rhetoric about American invasions by liberal lawyers, he gets periodic detention, is banned from owning a computer for 6 months, gets interviewed on TV and offered a huge wodge of cash by the local Microsoft branch. |

I imagine they do absolutely nothing about it. I suggest putting a bounty on their heads, literally. It worked to wipe out the buffalo years ago, so should work here. Say, $25.00 USD a head
