I ask the great hive mind of tMP
. The student newspaper at the college I work at (Babson Free Press) lost the domain name Babsonfreepress.com) during a change over of editorial staff when the new staff forgot to renew it. The current owner is squatting- hosting nothing but google ads, etc. They have asked if he would sell it and he demanded an unreasoable sum. I understand that they can petition the Internic, or whomever to recover the name- but wonder how they go about doing this and if it is worthwhile to try. Any advice? I am just trying to help these kids out. |

PM Bill and he can fix the typo in the subjectline/header. The VERY first thing I would do is contact the college administrators and ask them to have the head of the IT department or the College Lawyer contact these people. It's amazing what a little high-level pressure can do. |

Yes petition Internic. You should have no problem getting the domain back since they already had it. |

If all else fails, I've had great success shouting insults with an outrageous french accent. |
