The editor of The Slegdehammer was kind enough to drop me a sample issue of his new fanzine for Warhammer 40,000. It is of professional quality, not very large, but densely packed with good material, and written well enough that it's an enjoyable read.
This sample issue (#3) had these articles:
Killing Machines | A battle report in which the editor's Space Wolves suffer "...an utter defeat..." from Tyranids. |
---|---|
The Power Staff | An unofficial piece of wargear. |
Do 40K Tactics Really Matter? Part 3 | In this last article in the series, the author explains how to compensate for the constricted battle space of the typical 40K game. |
The Terrain Workshop | A guide to the buildings available for 40K - pre-built, kits, and basic ideas on making your own from scratch. |
A Different Angle: Terrain Creation | Making your own woods and hills. |
Maneuvers | Countering the classic pincer advance. |
News | Report on the latest official miniatures. |
Classifieds | Subscriber ads. |
The subscription rate is incredibly low, so it is hard to imagine any dedicated 40K player who wouldn't want to send off for this fanzine.
