That is great but, when are we going to see the 6mm models? If you have not noticed your credibility about releasing 6mm is at an all time low.

I would like for the unit cards and reference sheets to be available pre-printed instead of having to deal with that hassle after buying the book.

If only I was making them (6mm vehicles, that is [or even the 25/28mm 'flexi' vehicles…]). Sadly that's not down to me but an entirely independent manufacturer: Old Crow. I just write rules! The only thing I can offer on this is that I spoke to Old Crow within the last week and he assures me that they are 'imminent'. I just wish that was sooner: I want to buy some myself!

CLDecker: I spoke to the publisher on this via email a couple of days ago and he says that he has had very few requests for this and so hasn't got it on his 'radar' at the moment. His understanding is that most people are happy with the sheets and cards in the book (though I'll confess i haven't cut my book up either!) or the free downloads from the web site. But please: by all means email the publishers (Pireme) on this one.

I am aware that credibility is at stake here – mine specifically – but all I can say is that I ALWAYS deliver on what I say I will (25 years of being heavily involved with running Salute in London, 11 years of being a Monthly columnist in Practical Wargames etc etc are examples of my 'doing what I say I'll do' attitude).

But I'm not the publisher or the figure manufacturer or the sculptor (and, with the exception of my paying to get the Molts sculpted, I'm not even the man that pays the sculptor!): I am just the writer, art and layout chap.

All I can ask for is some understanding on that front.

Does anyone have any suggestions of getting Minature Wargames here in the states? Subscritions seem costly, wondering if there is any distribution here.

John, I'd like to take a momemnt to thank you for publishing this set. Nothing has ever come closer to bringing the Hammer's Slammers universive to the wargaming table. Your set really hit the nail on the head. Well done!

You can see some scenario notes and photos from our first game here:

Our local store gets it from a distributor, probably Alliance. Yours (if you have one) should be able to do so as well.

The US distributor for Miniature Wargames (and all Pireme games to include HS) is "On Military Matters" in NJ. He is listed within the TMP database

By any chance will thise articles appear on the Slammers web site?

John Treadaway08 Oct 2010 3:51 a.m. PST

AronBC – Thankyou kindly (and thanks for the links)

Mutant Q – after giving Pireme Publications a chance to sell as many copies of their mags as they can, that would certainly be my intention. But to cover CLDecker's earlier point, the magazine route be the way to get print outs – especially of the rule section – without having to download and print them yourselves at moderate cost (with a magazine to read thrown in!).

Where are those tanks from?

Blackhawk108 Oct 2010 9:11 a.m. PST

The top tank is from Old Crow.

Not sure of the bottom tank.

John Treadaway08 Oct 2010 11:47 a.m. PST

Blackhawk's right: The bottom big one is a scratch build by me, I'm afraid: 1/35th BMP with (I think) 1/48th Merkava turret.

The small AA gun is from GZG parts (a 15mm track unit and some gub barrels).

The top one is a tank destroyer variant of the Lancer which I'm sure Old Crow has on his production bench (next to the 6mm's !)

Yes … I await 6mm O/C Slammers …

John Treadaway10 Oct 2010 4:21 a.m. PST

"Form a Queue"*, Legion4. Latest news I had from Old Crow is that the Combat Car "roofs" – for want of a better word – are going in the mould now. 16 Different stowage variants already moulded in place.

I'm still looking forward to them…!
