Nice figure in an underappreciated conflict. The Spanish and later the Mexicans were in constant warfare with Native American tribes such as the Apaches, Comanches, and tribes in California. |

Ged, Do you have an idea of how large the range of Apache's is going to be please mate? I have a few ideas for display games in mind but it would require a substantial range if miniatures. Darrell MY BLOG: Just Add Water Miniature Painting and Wargaming Blog: justaddwater-bedford.blogspot.com |

Speaking of the armored Apache, I've seen illustrations of an armored horse that has just a cloth blanket. Maybe there are leather strips. However, yours looks too much like a Byzantine half cataphract. Sadly I would have to pass on that. If you do the version I've seen, I'd be up for a few. I'm also interested to see what you will do with Comanches, and Spanish regular infantry. This is untapped territory for gamers. |

thanks Gordon for your input the Apaches employed a Myraid of no blankets…antelope skins small cedar wood saddles..the armoured cavalry were very much a "in house" work in progress to counter the Cuera and their formidable rider and some horse armour.sand and glue were used on multiple layer of deer skin, and then painted red,Green blue or pale yellow..dependant on the availablity of mineral extracts. looting from wiped out Cuera and Spanisf infantry vompleted the picture! regards Ged gringo40s.com |
