One of the bowmen is left handed! To answer your question: no, I don't need more heavy Mongol cavalry. Every manufacturer who produces Mongols has too much heavy cavalry compared to light / medium cavalry. And I have a few of them! TAG and Quality Cast (who remembers these excellent models?) |

Fireforge make 28mm plastic kits sold in boxes, usually 12 horsemen to a box. |

Need heavy Mongol cavalry? No. Want them? Yes. Those are beautiful. |
David Johansen | 20 Apr 2015 5:51 p.m. PST |
The release mentions resin, in limited amounts so Fire Forge may be branching out. Plastics are an expensive way to do things and limit your available options. |
Puster | 20 Apr 2015 10:47 p.m. PST |
I would like to see some comparison shots beside their normal (plastic) Mongols, and naturally know the prices. Plastic is an expensive way, though for us customers usually they come out cheaper then resin. |

Hmmm, yes, totally want some. I bought their plastic Mongols to use for SAGA. Two boxes gave me all I need for a 4-point game (less the Warlord), but I wouldn't mind expanding my force at all, using a couple of 4-packs of these for Hearthguard. |
Dogged | 21 Apr 2015 12:02 a.m. PST |
IIRC it is a resin/plastic mix which would allow Fireforge to produce kits which while not as cheap as plastic would still be cheaper than metals while retaining high quality and being cheaper to produce than plastics. Also IIRC they were going to sell these heavies in 3-4 troops blisters, them being a command one and then lance, sword and bow armed riders, can't remember if as variants in a single release (riders with arm options) or as complete rider variants (so different releases for bow, lance or sword options). |

Yes, I suspect it's a 'castable plastic' or 'restic' type material. This sort of material is getting more popular. Anyway, VERY excited to see these, I've been holding off on starting a Mongol Army until the heavies were released; now between the plastic light cavalry and the restic heavies putting together an army should be no problem! -Will |

We will have avaible for sale 2 types of heavy mongol cavalry blisters The command and the Archers. Each blister with 4 figures and 4 horses in resin. We will show all the 4 different blister of the May release we will sell them for 12£ each blister |
tigrifsgt | 21 Apr 2015 10:19 a.m. PST |
If my last exchange rate check is correct, that would be about $21 USD per pack. Approx. $5.50 USD per mounted figure. |
Lord Ekard | 21 Apr 2015 11:02 a.m. PST |
All our prices are always only in € we have not yet a price in € only for salute we have the price of 12£ each blister |
axabrax | 21 Apr 2015 11:29 p.m. PST |
Wouldn't Mongol heavies be lancers or hand to hand fighters? How are armored bowmen a complement to light bowmen? I would think that the heavies would go in to mop up what was left after all the encirclement archery had done its work. |
Lord Ekard | 22 Apr 2015 7:55 a.m. PST |
Sure, they were lancers and armed also with one hand weapon, but always a mongol had also a bow |
tigrifsgt | 22 Apr 2015 11:26 a.m. PST |
Lord Ekard: At the CURRENT exchange rate the packs would be about 25 Euros, 12 pounds, or 21 dollars. Take your pick. |
Griefbringer | 22 Apr 2015 10:44 p.m. PST |
You might want to check your euro-to-pound exchange rates… |
tigrifsgt | 23 Apr 2015 3:16 p.m. PST |
I did pounds to dollars to euros based on info from my local bank. What they gave me was pound to dollars, pounds X 1.67. Dollars to euros, dollars x 1.14. |
Jimula | 23 Apr 2015 4:02 p.m. PST |
You need to divide not multiply as a Euro is worth more than a dollar |
tigrifsgt | 24 Apr 2015 4:31 p.m. PST |
The multiplier that the bank gave me worked out perfect for the GB mounted arabs. 22 pounds times 1.67 equals the American price of thirty five dollars exactly. So why would the multiplier that they gave me for the euros be wrong? You are correct that a euro is worth .mt. a dollar hence, dollar value times 1.14 equals 25 euros. |
Jimula | 25 Apr 2015 3:32 p.m. PST |
Its the right multiple – but in this case you have to divide. Think about it if a Euro is worth more than a Dollar then something of the same value should cost less in Euro's than it does in Dollars. I used to work in a company in the UK where we traded in Sterling, Dollars and Euros and we could never remember if we had to multiply or divide the Euro/Dollar rate to get the right answer! |
tigrifsgt | 26 Apr 2015 2:11 p.m. PST |
So doing it your way, what is the price in euros? |
Lord Ekard | 27 Apr 2015 2:10 a.m. PST |
Tig, I don't know why you don't understand me. However the final suggested prices will be probably: 12£ – 16€ – 18$ for each blister of 4 heavy mongol horsemen with their horses and that's obiuvsly is not the exact exchange rate between these values, but it is our policy. |
tigrifsgt | 28 Apr 2015 1:05 p.m. PST |
F: It's your company to set the prices as you wish. I was just wondering what it was going to cost me to set up my Leignitz battle. I already have 27 Hospitallers and Templars done, all FF. I just was just thinking, if I wanted to pay metal prices, I would already have my Mongol army. Keep those good figures coming, hopefully in plastic. TIG |
