I wonder how it will compare to NTW from The Lordz…

Hmm, count me as unconvinced. As a long-time TW player, I had grown used to needing a few patches to eventually end up with a game that lasted forever, especially with the great player mods that were available.

Empire:Total War broke that mold. Patches made things worse and the game was not opened up enough for modders to salvage it. In prior versions, Napoleon:Total War would have been the expansion pack for Empire:TW, including a final, nailed-it down patch for Empire. But, this time they abandoned Empire and are declaring Napoleon its own separate game.

Thanks, but having paid full, retail price for the equivalent of the beta of Napoleon:Total War, I just don't feel like paying full price again for the final, real, trust-us-this-time version.

Check back with me in two years so I can see if Creative Assembly has patched this into a playable game or dropped it like a smelly piece of pooh as well.

Well, living in the wilds of northern Wisconsin having only a dial-up internet connection, I was never able to get ETW to start (that darn Steam!). I have gone back to MTW2 which I like a great deal. I will not purchase any more games from the Total War series until they drop the Steam requirement.
