why all the Dutch? they were barely a footnote in the period.

We need better Austrian, Prussian and Russian sculpts they were major players Hell I would rather see more Turks.

'Cos its Waterloo+200 – and for the 100 days one needs the Dutch Belgian Contingent and all the Hanoverians, the the Nassauers and as ever the Brunswickers.

And to be honest all the minor players of the Napoleonic wars make fun armies and add variety.

I am just about to order Poles, Wurtemburgers, Saxons and Bavarians to flesh out my collection for the 1814 campaign

Hi Jim,
Johannes is correct with the 200th anniversary coming up of Quatre Bras and Waterloo I wanted to produce the forces that were present in the battle. The Dutch were a major force at both battles with a large number of infantry and artillery units engaged on both days. This is the same for the Brunswick division. For completness even though it has cost more I wanted to have quality sculpts of all the troop types for both nations not just a few generic figures.
I will be moving onto the British and French very soon with British foot and horse artillery available next month and more to come later.
Best Regards
Ian

Dear Ian
More power to your elbow on that one. I shall be interested to see the English Foot and Horse artillery, to add more variety to my collection.

If I might be permitted to make a couple of remarks – and this is a general comment and not at all directed at Eagle – with the rise in boxed sets of artillery one gets 3 or 4 very active crew and a peice. In some sculpts it is not possible to mix the crews for variety. They very obviously match only to the 5.5 inch Howitzer or whatever that they were sold with. If one is fielding several Batteries it gets a little obvious that the crews are all the same, either firing or loading; far more so than if the crews are in drill positions, and far more so than infantry units where numbers distract the eye. Secondly, a number of recent sets of rules are asking for more than 3 or 4 crew. It would be very nice to be able to buy packs of Artillerymen loitering, scratching their behinds, picking thier noses or doing nothing in particular that could be added to crews to make up the numbers; alternatively were say 1 or 2 members of a 4 figure crew modelled in such a way that duplicate figures were not out of place it would make it possible to buy additional crew packs with only the need for additional mould making. Handling cartridge or bringing forward more water would likely do it. I know that some makers do offer assistant and labourers packs, but even they do it for only selected nationalities or artillery types within their ranges, and that can be most frustrating.
If you have been, thank you for reading.
Best
JK

Hi Jk,
I understand you completely when it comes to artillery figures and poses. It is quite hard to produce something slightly different because you have the basic poses that everyone does want but then they can be a bit same same. I have tried with the new British crews to get some variety and with that in mind I have had 4 gunners sculpted for each type as well as an officer figure. This I hope will give some variety and variation to what people can do when basing the figures. Keep an eye out as I hope to have them in production soon and will advertise them on here as well as my facebook page.
Cheers
Ian
