Very sorry to hear this news. Your historical figures are very nice, especially the personalities. I hope Mr. Sawyer makes a more complete recovery.

TIL the word "blokey". As a cultural outsider, I doubt I could vocalize all the connotations, but I expect that word varies in implications across regions of the UK anyway.

Best of luck, Paul, and here's hoping for a maximal recovery. Getting old sucks.

Awful news looks like stage 4 brain cancer and it's a matter of when not if. Never met him in person but his era as White Dwarf editor was one of the best in the Magazines history. Very sad.

Sad news indeed, it's truly tough to stare your own mortality in the face. It's one thing to face danger, it's another to know that your days are literally numbered. There are no words to suffice …

Met him at Warlord headquarters once (about 3-5 years ago). We talked about the game (Bolt Action); I had no idea who he was until I read the article and saw his picture. I am bummed and hoping for a miracle.

I did know someone with stage 4 and made a complete recovery, after consulting another doctor. Never give up , there is always hope.
