The Cehans rule ! Would like to see the robomen back (the captain is, but not the troopers) |

These are interesting – are you sure they're Swamplords though ? They don't seem to have the gasbags on the back, and they're fully clothed and armoured – even the lord of the swamps went around in the standard issue loincloth. And the helmets are less ornate. And are they wearing shoes? How would the oversized three splayed toe feet fit in them ? Not trying to rain on your parade – I have quite a lot of Swamplords – they were my favourite VFW creatures and I'm just really curious as to how these fit in. The boardgame and the background story didn't mention any armoured swamplords either IIRC. Maybe they were going to be an evolution in a later story / scenario ? Or could they have been the first sculpts and were then replaced? Whatever – they are clearly Minifigs sculpts, and anything new has to be celebrated ! Well done !! |

Cehans and Robomen-beautiful figs-especially the trooper. The Aquila stuff was always intriguing as well – would like to field hordes of those clowns. |

I am ridiculously excited about these even if they do look like Darth Vader's head stuck on the body of a spearman from the ancients range. As far as I know these were never listed in any of the Minifigs catalogues. They have also brought into production one of the Ogres from the old D&D range. This was listed in the early catalogues but I have never seen the figure before. Does this mean there is a chance that the Evil Clerics and Female Elves that were listed but never produced may eventually see the light of day?

Look like head swaps without the backpacks…. agreed about the feet though. Be interesting to see the codes on them. One of the guys there told me about an SF artillery piece they'd found that hadn't ever been released….off to buy them all now though….. |

Other unreleased pieces there as well…..certainly worth a look! |

Thanks for the excitement chaps- even 20th Maine is happy for once- was worth the struggle to get them sorted then ! :-} Thanks for that info Maine, every little thing helps WE are calling the Swamp lords because of the vague head shape as we have no idea what they are and Resurrection to be ironic and a gentle dig at current fashion. The numbers on the base are already used in the VFW series so we just added the 1 in front. They were all chromed up, hence the silver effect, Luckily it doesn't seem to have effected the detail when we molded them up- it was strange Neville paranoia All the other odds and ends we are finding are lurking as single figures in original master molds, with other 25mm, 15mm and even 54mm!! As it happens, I own the master of another figure of VFW that never made it to the production mould: Hero with lance on top of a giant skull. |

Can you post a picture? I would love to see that. Is there any chance of you getting together with Dave Ryan and getting it into production? |
Keith T | 22 May 2015 8:28 a.m. PST |
OMG I remember these when they were first released by Minifigs over 30 years ago, a huge box arrived in the shop in Edinburgh full of very strange figures with no explanation on what they were till much later. Small 25mm but interesting sculpts. |
Dave Ryan | 22 May 2015 8:36 a.m. PST |
Is that the original Swamp Lords or these new ones- do you remember what they were? |
Dave Ryan | 22 May 2015 8:39 a.m. PST |
Cehan fish lord yes, pin heads no- to date |
20thmaine | 22 May 2015 10:32 a.m. PST |
The Fish Lord is perhaps the bizarrest creature in that first SF range – it has a laser weapon (with a huge holster)…but no arms or hands…just fins.
How did they evolve to be a space faring culture ? How did they pul their boots on ? I've always thought it has to be ESP and telekenesis. I have a few of them – sadly they went out of production not long after I started buying that range. It was such a strange range overall – I really liked the Starman as well :
And the heavy weapons – now this really is a screw gun
And I think I've nailed the origin of this chaps laser rifle
Happy days if these all come back. They were used in a big space battle that made the cover of an issue of Battle for Wargamers in..umm..1978(?). The centrepiece of the battle was a giant laser thingy made from a vanity mirror…then was the times ! |

Yes, found fish man- and a swept wing space craft |
mashrewba | 22 May 2015 2:32 p.m. PST |
For me the best Sci Fi range ever -I wish I had more. |
Dave Ryan | 22 May 2015 3:14 p.m. PST |
we have about half te range in production- with a few more to come |
20thmaine | 22 May 2015 6:38 p.m. PST |
The Herbicus were wonderful as well – killer plants and this plantman who….well god knows what he's doing…and whether he should be doing it in public….

Geudens…. You have to post a pic please! I post pics on the Lost Minis WIKI (the SF ones here are mostly mine) and love adding unreleased stuff for posterity. How did you come to get hold of may I ask? |
geudens | 23 May 2015 2:04 a.m. PST |
I'm a bit short of time right now. Let me come back to this in a couple of days: I've located the master but need some time for the picture. You'll be allowed to place it on your site, DD. It will be an honour. |
SJDonovan | 23 May 2015 5:15 a.m. PST |
That's great news guedens. I can't wait to see the figure. |
20thmaine | 23 May 2015 5:47 a.m. PST |
the SF ones here are mostly mine Correction – they are ALL from Lost Minis ! it's a great site, that I really enjoy visiting. And very useful when an old figure turns up and it's a case of "Hmm…well, this looks like Citadel…but what is it ?" |
