Those prices are pretty good. I might have to stock up on some of those guys. About 10 buck for three cavalry is tough to pass up on.

Does anyone know how they fit in with the PErry HYW stuff?

I do not have Perry HYW. However, I have Front Rank. Crusader minis are a bit taller than FR (perhaps 2mm or so—I mix them in anyway). The horses are much larger than FR horses.

I wouldn't normally mix Crusader and Perry in the same unit due to the size difference. These were done by Corvus Belli originally, so normal Crusader sizes may not apply. They look every bit as lovely as other Crusader offerings from the pics, though.

They do look really well-sculpted (& painted too!).

They fit perfectly with Black-Tree-Design HYW stuff…

And, they paint very easily. Very nice poses too!

They are beautiful, and quite accurate too.

The Irish are beautiful and any Elizabethan gamer should not be without them, nice to convert with weapon swaps too

Hello everybody,

Can anybody tell me how the Crusader HYW cavalry compare in size with Perry Orleans range?

Thanks
Mick

way bigger horses and figs, a lot closer to front rank in size, the horses are extra large.
Damn fine though and heaps more bang for your buck than perry.

cheers

Crusader HYW cavalry compare in size with Perry Orleans range?

Perry's is smaller than Front Rank. Thinner and a little shorter. I do not own Perry's, but I did a size comparison at Fall In game convention a couple of years ago between Perrys and Front Rank. I own many from Front Rank and Crusader and the Crusader line are larger than Front Rank, so they must tower over the Perry's and look quite a bit thicker too. The horses are larger than Front Rank as well, so I can only imagine that the Perry's would be downright "Lilliputian" as compared to the Crusaders (OK a bit of hyperbole).

Dear John and Bluewillow,

Thanks for the info.

Apologies for the late reply, but a long time ago I bought two of the WOTR mounted knights (from Em-4 then) and those were quite small, like the Perry Crusaders I compared them with (and maybe even a tad "slighter", sadly I don't have them anymore to check it again).

So it's strange that other people rate the HYW mini's as very big…is there a scale difference between the WOTR and HYW ranges from crusader?
