Looks like you could also paint that roof as icing. |

I don't like that roof at all. Our ancestors weren't any more stupid than us and there is no reason to assume that they wouldn't know how to effective thatch a roof. Shame because it's a nice little model otherwise. I agree with "Number6" it looks a bit "Gingerbread House" Oh and the infill between the timber posts was most likely "wattle and daub" and therefore smooth(ish) rather than the planked effect you have gone for. |

Many dark ages houses used planks dropped into grooves in logs (either vertical or horizontal). They weren't all wattle and daub. |

Is that supposed to be a smoke hole in the middle of the roof? Sorry, that's wrong. a hole at the top of the wall at each end is what it should have. |

@Stratos, Yea I checked out the 14/7 club and have shown this option to my wife.(hint, hint, my dear) Considering that I am at a point in time in my miniature collecting where instead of buying more figures I now need more terrain, the Ancient and Dark Ages lines are very tempting. Of course, I need Dinosaurs and Prehistoric Mammals for my Saurian Safari and Tooth and Claw games as well. Therefore, I will be giving Acheson a good bit of my custom this year I think. |
