Sounds like that will be a blast. Too bad I live on this side of the pond now.

What is AK47 like? I won't be going to England to play, just curious.

Here is some information about AK47.
Have a look at the following two links if you would like to know more.

The first will take you to a full rule explanation. Maybe download the play-sheet to get an idea of how it works?
The second takes you to a discussion group that will also give some insight.

If (?) you were at Historicon about 7 years ago there were AK games for 3 days.

The basic concept is that of low tech armies.
There are players who enjoy edition 1 more than edition 2. Absolutely good. Both editions written by the same team. Rules are a very subjective matter, which is also good.

For clarification the GEEK Villain prize is one of their soft cloth mats. The army Painter prize is brush and paints. PP will contribute a collectible figure for all who attend. The figure will be available to all, later in the year too (collectibles page).

Plus anyone who attends gets to meet with the most handsome bunch of gamers ever gathered in one place. And a buffet lunch is included.

Hey you left me out with that description. They get to meet me too.

Agree with Joe Legan's first post.
One of these days, I need to get the second edition. I love the first, but would like to try out the second.

Our game day went very well. 12 players split into Government and Rebel forces fighting to with maintain the government or over throw it.

The Rebels came out on top meaning my fictional nation of uMbongo is now in a state of civil war.

Lots of fun, including airstrike on police stations, helicopters being shot from the air, the loss of the only international airport to the Rebels and crocodiles!

Hopefully part two next year when Dr Chumbo looks to return to the country and restore order.

AK Day'21 was an excellent wargaming experience.

Ak47 Republic is a fun game.
