With a Purpose is one of the upcoming expansions for the Victory by Any Means campaign system that will add objectives and missions to the game, which are useful for players that want to play "local campaigns" where you're more a military governor of a sector of space receiving commands from back home rather than an emperor of the entire empire. We expect that book to be out in late August. |

Ah, that "With A Purpose" sounds perfect for established settings, will definitely pick up VBAM2 now! Will there be another Menagerie and Companion? |

New versions of the Companion and Menagerie (renamed to First Contact) are going to be out before the end of the year if everything goes right. I'm fast tracking First Contact to get the custom empire rules out there. I'm reworking the system this week, and might have something to send to playtesters before I leave on vacation July 22. Companion is in a state of flux, waiting to see where rules end up. We have a lot of rules to stuff back in there, but want to make sure that optional rules end up in books with similar themes -- leaving Companion as our solo player + potpourri add on :) |
