Although it looks very nice, the whole idea of "limited edition" wargaming figures annoys me.

Yea, I kind of have to agree with you on that. Unless its some part of a Kickstarter or Special promotion bonus, then "Why"?

I didn't know there was a revolver variant of the elephant gun. Anyway, he's clearly wearing a Gallifreyan holster, so portage at least should be all Sir Garnet.

Part time gamer, the answer to your question is: Why not? I like these type of specialist miniatures for my various skirmish games.

I don't like Limited additions either. What if somebody now too young to buy figures learns of this figure in five years and he finds out they're all gone.

It reminds me of conventional only figures. Sometimes I see figures I would really like but I can't get to the convention. This is such a small hobby there should be no restrictions on getting figures. I could see putting a extra price for special figures. Indeed I'm seeing 25 mm figures going for five dollars in some places.

I do like the figure and will get one, elephant pistol and all :-)

After all, everything is all Sir Garnet.

I don't know if this is a problem. At Historicon I picked up figures for Uxbridge and Rapp. I believe these figures were released quite a while ago but were still available.

This figure is already on backorder. So does that mean there will be no more available.I'm sure some ordered more than one.
