Mule Train
Frankie Laine
(Hyah, hyah)
Mule train! (Hyah, hyah)
Mule train!
Clippety cloppin' over hill and plain
Seems as how they never stop, clippety clop, clippety clop
Clippety, clippety, clippety, clippety, clippety cloppin' along
There's a plug o'chaw tobacky for a rancher in Corona
A ghee-tar for a cowboy 'way out in Arizona
A dress of calico for a pretty Navajo
Get along, mule!, get along
Mule train! (Hyah, hyah)
Mule train!
Clippety cloppin' o'er the mountain chain
Soon they're gonna reach the top, clippety clop, clippety clop
Clippety, clippety, clippety, clippety, clippety cloppin' along
There's some cotton thread and needles for the folks in way-out-yonder
A shovel for a miner who left his home to wander
Some rheumatism pills for the settlers in the hills
Get along, mule!, get along
Mule train! (Hyah, hyah)
Mule train!
Clippety cloppin' through the wind and rain
They'll keep goin' till they drop, clippety clop, clippety clop
Clippety, clippety, clippety, clippety, clippety cloppin' along
There's a letter full of sadness trimmed with black around the border
A pair of boots for someone who had them made to order
A bible in the pack for the Reverend Mr. Black
Get along, mule!, get along
Get along, mule, get along! (mule train)
(Hyah, hyah)

doc mcb,
That brought memories back out of the cobwebs. I remember
the tv show and that was the theme song! Back in the stone
age when it aired, Boraxo even had a thing with the boxtops
and maybe a quarter where you could order a plastic 20
mule team and wagon. I had one!
Thanks for the memories!

They look great. How many people suddenly discovered that they need a whole mule train? The lone mule you already have just isn't enough!

Twenty five years ago I was a scoutmaster, and one of my scouts, for his Eagle service project, undertook to restore a stretch of an old mule trail through the Cherokee National Forest. Twenty boys and a few men spent two days repairing a switchback, which meant carrying the big rocks that had supported the trail back up the steep hill and rebuilding a rock wall. HARD hot work. But there was a beautiful creek nearby to swim in. The park rangers showed us what they wanted, and came back next day and professed themselves satisfied. But that trail was something else; no other way to cross the mountain back then.

Interesting that you should ask. I bought the TSATF Scenario pack and several of the scenarios call for large numbers of mules. I mean obscene numbers of pack mules; 24-30. And frankly, 28mm metal mules aint exactly cheap. I think I got 12 and just lost my mule mojo.

I like The Assault Group pack mules but they are a fortune. Maybe I'll get some of these.
