Actually, should say fantasy Dark Ages because the idea of shield maidens is pretty much fantasy with no real evidence to support it.

I quite like the Vendel era Norse.

I think the (Vendel era Norse) are also available in metal from the designer at Medbury miniatures on Facebook.

"Shieldmaidens" likely fantasy. Women warriors likely reality.

The problem for designers is that a woman in armor and a man in armor can look much the same. Especially at miniature scale.
