Very nice, but will we ever get more than two packs of EIR infantry? I would have been all over this Blue Moon line years ago if I could have put together a real EIR army using BM figures.

What is really missing from the Roman's that is really essential??
Legions and auxiliary infantry. Gaul cav can be used as cav.
90% of the army is available-- yet you do not encourage a manufacturer with a purchase --- to encourage the added odd pack here and there.

these can also serve for and against later Roman armies and their eastern opponents.

Gorgeous figures, I will add these troops to my Bastarnae army.

Sorry to be a bit late to the party, but: no, they really can't; they look totally wrong. The round shields just aren't right, and the helmets look wrong too, and the horse-furniture's too simple. The long sleeves are not typical but are possible, but the long trousers really aren't.

What is essential is probably cavalry, cavalry command, archers, and bolt-shooting engines. Other things that Early Imperial players like to use in smaller numbers – Moorish light horse, contarii lancers – would be nice but aren't really essential.

The Romans always used Gaul or German mercenaries. You could even use the Sarmatian Lazyges tribe.
The things you mention are indeed neat --but not necessary and also abundant on the market.
That being said I am sure some Roman cav and archers will show up sooner or later.

The Romans always used Gaul or German mercenaries.

But by the time that the infantry wore the equipment of your figures, the Romans were not using Gaulish cavalry with round shields and old helmets; the auxiliary cavalry units had been regularised, just like the auxiliary infantry. And even if a player did use Sarmatian cavalry, or whatever, they'd want some regular cavalry as well. Offering half an army seems a strange marketing technique.

"Offering half of an army seems a strange marketing technique."
You mean like the great Perry's and most every other manufacturer moving from period to period over time to meet market demands?
Some things do languish longer then I would like so we will indeed get to Roman cavalry, etc.
Also need to get back to 7 years war.

Also, I should point out that there actually is 1st century Roman Cav available.

Hopefully you can get back to Napoleonics and finish off a couple of those armies soon.

+1 for Doctor X.

Doing some Danish Light Infantry, and greatly expanding the Swedish army would be a good start.
