Btw, it is perfectly reasonable, as a plausible hypothetical, to have the Confederates building Arkansas class ships instead of the massive and underpowered Louisiana and Mississippi. Give the Rebs four Arkansases plus Manassas and their ram fleet. Assume Farragut counters with Monitor, New Ironsides, and Galena, and ditched the 90 day gunboats. GREAT fleet action. |
