After I release 3 to 5 sets, I'm planning on running the first ever Mega Miniatures Painting contest. Prizes will be available for both the 25mm and 15mm categories. Johnny MegaMinis.com |

Nice! I was literally just about to send an e-mail off, asking what had become of these! |

Snazzy, always did like Star Mogul. Does this mean there's a 15mm Demo-bot in the works? |

Oh, neat. Damn it, Johnny, I'm trying to resist 15mm sci-fi. RESIST, see? - Monk |

Gosh darn!!! Just spent this weeks allowance on Khurasan's new Rednecks. Guess I'll have to wait for next week. I also second the vote for 15mm Demo-bots. Tim |

Demo-Bot is finished, 11 piece kit with weapons and two arm options, but it will probably top out at $10 USD to $15. USD Still, that is half the price of the 28mm version. Just have to make 8 more molds and just ran out of the rubber. Would work well with 25mm too because it is 40mm tall. As far as resisting 15mm, I would say for large battles that is the only way to play unless you enjoy having your wallet drained every time you buy into a game system. I'm the world's biggest cheap as*, hence my low production quality, so 15mm is very appealing for me. I tried to launch a line of 15mm Moderns, Sci-Fi, Westerns, Pulps, and Fantasy figures back in 2009 and five sculptors were interested at first but then they all got cold feet. Johnny MegaMinis.com |

Aweseome figs Johnny, If I was a 15mm guy, I'd be all over these. Of course, I do have the 28mm versions
I'll be looking forward to the painting contest. Probably won't win, but I'll enter if I can. |

as mentioned elsewhere, simply not good enough in this day and age quality wise, and too much cost wise. |

Johnny, Good to see. Any chance the Hydrissians will follow with a resizing? Love to get a bunch of those in 15mm. Thanks. Tim |

Alien Surfer: You are overlooking a fact. I'm not competing with the other 15mm brands. These are figures for Salvage Crew fans. The 15mm community is small. VERY VERY small and I'm not creating this line to make a profit but to fill my personal need for the scale that I prefer. If they happen to sell to my customers then bonus. TimHerr: Yes sir. There are a bunch of stuff in the process of being sculpted, can't say when it all will get released as I want to offer things in groups of 10, (My sorting trays in the casting room are stacked in rows of 10 so I don't have to use my brain when pulling figures for sets). Next up a 40mm Demo-Bot, 11 part kit. Masters are finished, just making the molds. Johnny MegaMinis.com |

Johnny, that is as may be, but they are still poor quality sculpts – regardless of price. That is my opinion of course, but if you look at the level of sculpts out there, and the sculptors available, these could easily have been done to look as nice as the original 28mms. If you don't like opinions that don't fit in with your own, or do not like criticism you are in the wrong business ;-) however, good luck in your venture, as megaminis do a good job and amongst the catalogue is some really nice stuff that would have stayed unavailable. I can see why 15mm salvage crews would sell well, I've been looking at the game, but do not want to do 28mm anymore. I'd have bought these myself except the sculpting really is sub-par, and at $1 USD a figure in 15mm I'd want a bloody good sculpt! It's nothing personal against you nor your project. |

PS – the 15mm community isn't THAT small. Don't try and justify it that way. I don't like those sculpts, you don't like my opinion on them – simples, but 15mm is very vibrant and not VERY VERY small. If it were that small, would Khurusan be releasing a new set every 30 minutes or so? ;-p |

Listen, everyone is entitled to their opinion. I just get tired of hearing it from people who expect more out of Mega Miniatures. What is Mega Miniatures? I am a company that either create new pieces using sculptors who don't charge that much ($50 for a 15mm figure) or I buy out another company if the price is really low ($50 a mold with production rights). That is what I do, sell old classic crappy miniatures and new crappy sculpted miniatures. I don't showcase pieces like most companies? For once I am selling a figure at a higher than expected price and I think some people have sticker shock. We are talking a whole dollar, and when Mega Miniatures has finally liquidated all its assets in the coming years (almost 20% of the molds sold off in the last 12 months), The only thing I will retain and sell are the 15mm science fiction miniatures that I will cast for fun and an infrequent sale. That is what I do, sell old classic crappy miniatures and new crappy sculpted miniatures. While I honestly appreciate that business model, you have also got some pretty nice models for sale in your catalog, as well. Not trying to ruin your image, just wanted to point that out. |
| JohnnyBorg | 16 May 2012 11:29 a.m. PST |
LOL. Yes I know Caesar, but it was pure luck that I was able to buy out some of the companies I now produce. I love the old school look of miniatures and so do a lot of people. Many people prefer the look of the "Crappy Classic" figures of the past including me, but the haters still try and point out that I'm doing something wrong by not COPYING all the other companies. My image can't be ruined, I never really had one. Images cost too much. |

Johnny, lots of the stuff you sell is actually pretty nice stuff, and does have an old school charm. I was just saying I do not like these – especially as they are direct 15mm copies of the originals, one would think the sculptor could have done better. It's only an opinion, and iirc, on here and that nasty place called Frothers, other megaminis stuff hasn't been slated, and is often listed as a place to pick up X,Y,Z type of figure so it's not a dislike of Megaminis, nor you – just most people thought these were awful sculpts – and it might have been more tolerable if there wasn't very good 28m versions available. I can see why you would do them in 15mm, it's a great idea, just, IMO, badly executed by your sculptor. It's not a criticism of you in any way – unless you are the sculptor? As I have mentioned to you, if you get a better sculptor and bring out those hydrassians and the other alien species in 15mm you'll have my money :-) |
