I wasn't sure how the troop carrier would go down – it seems that most people like it ! My rationale is that it was developed during the invasion/pacification of a fairly backward planet, facing relatively primitive inhabitants (think Ewoks). The heavily armoured Yenpalo troops were in little danger from the bows and spears of the natives, and the open design of the troop carrier allowed them to deploy very rapidly in ambush situations. Of course, when the Yenpalo came up against a more advanced enemy with Big Guns, the Sulifi suddenly became a death trap… |
